The Wyo Dental Clinic, located in the Wyo/Courtney area of Yadkin County, provides quality, low cost dental care to individuals residing in Yadkin, Davie, Forsyth, and surrounding counties. The Clinic serves individuals with limited access to dental care. The clinic welcomes persons of all religious affiliations and/or cultural and ethnic backgrounds.
Services Offered:
The Wyo clinic is our provides routine and specialized dental services including:
o routine exams
o hygiene (cleanings)
o surgical extractions
o restorations (fillings)
o root canals
o removable partials
o full dentures
Patients are given a 75% discount for services based on established standard dental fees. Spanish/English interpretation provided as needed.
Our History:
In May 2002, under direction of the Giving Hand Foundation, the Wyo Dental Clinic opened its doors and began providing free dental services to those in need. By June of 2004, more than 400 patients residing in Davie, Forsyth, and surrounding counties, had received dental care. The clinic operates with support from volunteer dentists, physicians, nurses, hygienists, and assistants, with support services provided by local church members.
Accomplishments:
o In the first year and a half of operation, volunteers at the Wyo Dental clinic provided over $180,000 worth of low cost dental care.
o Since the clinic opened, volunteers have provided more than 1000 hours worth of professional dental service.
o In 2003 and 2004 the clinic collaborated with the Yadkin County Department of Health to provide dental services to migrant farmworkers.
o In 2003 and 2004 Forsyth Technical Community College students partnered with the Wyo Clinic to provide special sealant clinics for school-aged children.
